Project playground

Pupils at Corpus Christi Primary School in Werribee are enjoying a new junior playground that has been installed in their school’s grounds.

A student design team and all the school’s junior students were given an opportunity to provide input and feedback on designs for the playground in 2021, with many of the pupils’ suggestions incorporated into the final design.

The company that installed the playground, Adventure Plus, completed work on the during the Christmas break.

School principal Linda Roynic said the pupils submitted some creative and imaginative ideas for the playground, including a slide that ended in a pool – although this particular design could not be incorporated into the final project.

“The children are thoroughly enjoying the new playground and that they are also enjoying the new rubber surface and surrounding garden area, installed under the direction of Mr Kyle Dent (a contractor), as this replaced the tan bark that was there previously,” Ms Roynic said.

Corpus Christi will also have a new shade structure erected over its outdoor basketball court during this term.
