Probationary driver allegedly caught speeding

Police intercepted an 18-year-old driver detected allegedly travelling 167 km/h in an 80km/h zone on Leaks Road, Truganina.

Police say the P-plater had only had his licence for 10 days and was driving his dad’s new car on Monday, November 28, when he was stopped about 2.30pm.

The car was impounded at a cost of $1006.10 and police say the driver is expected to be charged with speed dangerous, and other traffic offences.
