Princess Highway crash leaves Werribee woman fighting for life.

A woman has been air-lifted to hospital with life threatening injuries following a crash on the Princess Highway at Werribee this morning.

It is understood a truck and SUV collided on the Princes Highway near Farm Road at about 9am.

Police and emergency services were called to the scene where the driver of the SUV was trapped inside the vehicle.

A 49 year old Werribee woman was freed from the wreckage by emergency services and

air-lifted to hospital.

She was the only occupant of the vehicle.

The driver of the truck, a 60-year-old Caroline Springs man, was not injured and stopped at the scene.

Investigations remain ongoing.
