Premier Daniel Andrews visited a Hoppers Crossing school last week to inspect the college’s new sports science hub.

Accompanied by Tarneit MP Sarah Connolly, Mr Andrews toured the facilities at The Grange P-12 College.

The facilities were built as part of a $9.5 million investment funded in the 2019 Victorian budget.

The works will transform existing classrooms and facilities, with a major upgrade to the science block, including sports science learning spaces and science specialist areas.

Construction is well under way, with major works completed on the learning facilities and a newly-refurbished rugby pitch at the college.

Ms Connolly said: “Our $9.5 million upgrade at The Grange P-12 College already has students kicking goals in the classroom and on the rugby pitch.”

The Grange P-12 College principal David Smillie said it was great to see Mr Andrews and Ms Connolly visit the school.

“I know that Premier Andrew’s has a keen interest in our sports program and is always focused on supporting improvements in facilities and student learning outcomes,” Mr Smillie said.

“It was terrific to see students genuinely warm to the premier and without prompting sincerity thank the premier’s government for providing funding for our competition-quality rugby pitch.”
