A new collection of portraits are hoped to enhance the entrance at Werribee’s Station Place.

Wyndham council announced the three category winners of the Way Out West 2022 competition will be featured.

“The Way Out West Station Place Photography Installation showcases a collection of six photographs featuring portraits of local people from Wyndham and is a wonderful celebration of diversity,“ Wyndham’s creative city portfolio holder councillor Marcel Mahfoud said.

“This series of portraits by young photographers from the community represents the many rich, diverse cultural backgrounds of Wyndham’s people, with photos selected from the 2022 Way Out West Youth Photography competition held in 2022.”

Way Out West is an annual photography competition and traveling exhibition hosted by council, that is open to local young people who live, work, study or spend time in Wyndham.

Council said these photographs are of people from the community, and were chosen to reflect the life and surroundings of Wyndham’s young people through the lenses of their own cameras.

“Installed in the entrance at Werribee’s Station Place, it creates a stunning visual backdrop and will be on display until the end of 2023.” said Cr Marfoud.

These photographic works are by Ipsa Chatterjee, Jade Jones, Lucinda Tabart, Mikhaell, Naomi Kiyaga, and Simone Sardana.
