Police are looking for witnesses to an alleged firearms incident in Hoppers Crossing on the evening of Friday, July 1.
Officers were called to a shopping complex on Warringa Crescent about 6.15pm after reports a man was seen with a firearm and acting erratically.
Police found a man in the car park, he was taken into custody and officers located a gel blaster handgun nearby.
A 32-year-old man is assisting police with their inquires.
