Highway patrol officers have teamed up this morning on a new operation aimed at targeting speeding drivers.
Westgate, Brimbank, and Melbourne highway patrol officers were joined by members of Operation Achilles to conduct surveillance on Citylink.
Police were out for a two hour period starting at 5am and say they detected 51 offences, including 36 speeders, two suspended drivers, one drug driver and 12 other offences including driving in closed lanes.
In a Facebook post, Victoria police warned drivers to expect similar pop ups.
“If you’re asking for a mate, there is every chance we will be back for an encore performance.”
