Police seized more than 830 cannabis plants, with a street value of about $3 million, during a two-day operation in Wyndham earlier this month.
A Victoria Police spokesperson said detectives from the Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit executed warrants across 10 rental properties in relation to illicit drug manufacturing on May 2 and 3.
Seven of the properties were in Point Cook. Police also executed warrants in Tarneit, Truganina and Williams Landing.
The police spokesperson said two people were arrested and charged during of the execution of the warrants.
“A 28-year-old man from Point Cook and a 29-year-old man from Williams Landing were both arrested and charged with cultivating a commercial quantity of a narcotic plant and other drug-related offences,” the police spokesperson said.
“Both men were remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court.”
The Williams Landing man has been remanded to appear in court again on July 30. The Point Cook man will appear in court again on August 5.
The police spokesperson said police worked “tirelessly to reduce the supply of drugs”.
“The investigation was part of Victoria Police’s ongoing efforts to detect and disrupt illicit drug activity in order to keep the community safe from harm,” they said.
