Police investigate Tarneit shooting and assault

One man has been shot and three others injured during an early morning shooting and assault in Tarneit.

Emergency services were called to a Conway Street property about 4.15am after residents reported sounds of a disturbance and a gunshot.

Paramedics treated a 31-year-old man with what is believed to be an upper body gunshot wound at the scene. He was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital, where he is reportedly in a stable condition.

A 32-year-old woman was also treated for upper body injuries and was taken to The Alfred Hospital in a stable condition. A 34-year-old man and 23-year-old woman were also taken to The Alfred with assault-related injuries; all are in a stable condition.

The armed crime squad is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, and have spent the morning studying CCTV footage from security cameras at a neighbouring property.

Police have closed off Conway Street this morning as they conduct their investigation.

The shooting and assault occurred at a new housing estate in Tarneit. Police have had to turn away tradies who had arrived to work on construction sites near the scene of the attack.

No arrests have been made.
