Police investigate Sayers Road collision

Westgate Highway Patrol is appealing for witnesses following a three-car collision which caused a fire and left one car on its side in Tarneit over the weekend.

Police attended the collision near the intersection of Sayers Road and Crossway Avenue about 7pm on Saturday.

A Toyota Camry rolled onto its side and a white Holden Commodore station wagon crashed into a power transformer which started a fire. The fire was quickly brought under control by emergency services on scene.

The driver of the Toyota, a 40-year-old man, along with three child occupants were transported to hospital for observation.

An 18-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

He is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

Investigators have been told the Holden Commodore may have been driving erratically prior to the collision.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or any erratic driving in the area prior to the crash can call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
