A man has been arrested after failing to stop for police while allegedly driving erratically through the streets of Wyndham.

Highway patrol officers observed a blue Ford Falcon driving erratically on Point Cook Road in Seabrook about 6.20pm on March 13.

The vehicle allegedly reached speeds of 100km/h in a 60km/h zone.

The driver failed to stop and police followed the car throughout Laverton, later terminating the pursuit due to safety concerns.

The driver allegedly side-swiped a civilian’s car on Palmers Road.

The passenger and driver exited the car and boarded a train at Williams Landing railway station.

Police arrested a 19-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, both from Point Cook, at Aircraft railway station.

The 19-year-old driver was charged with 16 offences including reckless conduct endangering serious injury, dangerous driving while being pursued by police, possessing ecstasy and failure to stop on police request.

He was remanded to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.

The 25-year-old passenger was released without charge.

No one was injured during the incident.
