Police arrest two, seek one after Tarneit armed robbery

Two Wyndham teenagers have been charged after an armed robbery at a Tarneit restaurant during which a victim was punched in the head.

Police have been told three males entered a fast food restaurant on Derrimut Road at approximately 2pm on August 11.

The males allegedly had an edged weapon and stole two mobile phones from people inside the venue.

Another victim was also allegedly punched in the head during the incident but was not seriously injured.

Detectives from Westgate Divisional Response Unit have charged two males, after executing three search warrants at properties in Tarneit, Werribee and Wyndham Vale this week.

Two youths, a 14-year-old from Tarneit and a 15-year-old from Werribee, have been charged with armed robbery.

The Werribee boy has been remanded in custody and the Tarneit boy has been bailed.

Both are due to appear at a court at a later date.

Police are also seeking to identify another male whom they believe could assist with inquiries.

The male is perceived to be African in appearance, aged in his teens, with shoulder-length dark brown or black hair.

He was wearing a brown hooded puffer jacket, black Adidas tracksuit pants and had a black face mask on.

It is believed he may reside in the Wyndham area.
