Police appeal for witnesses

A man has turned himself in to police this morning following an alleged hit-run collision in Tarneit last night.

A 20-year-old Tarneit man is currently assisting police with their inquiries.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was left injured in the middle of the road following an alleged hit-run collision in Tarneit on Thursday, June 16.

Officers were told the 21-year-old woman was crossing Leakes Road, near the intersection of Penrose Promenade, when she was struck by a white sedan about 5.45pm.

Police said the driver of the white sedan did not stop to assist the young woman and sped away from the scene, east bound towards Derrimut Road.
