Point Cook tobacco shop fire suspicious

A fire at a tobacco shop in Point Cook on Friday morning is being treated as suspicious.

Emergency services responded to the fire at the shop on Murnong Street in the Point Cook Town Centre just before 6am on January 19.

Fire fighters arrived on the scene to find a broken window and a small fire in the front of a tobacco shop.

The building sustained minor damage and there were no injuries.

Detectives from Taskforce Lunar, established to combat organised crime involvement in the illicit tobacco trade, are investigating the incident which is the latest in a string fires at tobacco outlets in Victoria.
