Point Cook will get a new senior campus thanks to a million-dollar allocation in yesterday’s state budget.
The government has included $1 million in its 2017-18 budget for architectural planning and community consultations for the new school, which will cater for years 10 to 12.
Star Weekly incorrectly reported yesterday that the funding would go towards upgrades for the existing Point Cook Senior Secondary College after information on the state government’s budget website stated “Point Cook Senior Secondary College has been provided with funds to plan their future upgrades and building works”.
A spokeswoman from Altona MP Jill Hennessy’s office confirmed the funding was in fact for planning for a new 10-12 senior campus.
