Point Cook resident wins big on Hot Seat

The next time you’re watching a game show on TV and you think to yourself ‘I could be a contestant on this’, you could find yourself in the same position as Stephen Fee.

The Point Cook resident took home $50,000 in winnings during the Monday, May 16 episode of Millionaire Hot Seat.

“I’ve done a little bit of trivia quizzes in the past and I was quite good,” Mr Fee said.

“I started watching Millionaire Hot Seat about six, seven years ago, I did the questions as the people were doing the questions and always seemed to do quite well.”

Mr Fee said it was around this time last year when he saw an advertisement looking for contestants for the series.

“I thought ‘go for it and see what happens’ and it got me on the show,” he said.

“My targets were not to come last .. .if I could answer one question right in the hot seat I’d have been delighted.”

The episode also marked the first time crowds were allowed back in the audience and Mr Fe said the energy in the room was electric.

“People were just hoping the person in the seat would do the best they could, it was an amazing experience and having the crowds there made it so much better,” he said.

Originally, Mr Fee intended to use his winnings to take his family on holiday to Ireland, his home country, but his kids weren’t too keen on the long flight.

“What we are going to do for some of the money is go to Singapore next year, for a week for the family. They have to go to an Irish pub every day that they’re there,” he said.
