Despite recently winning the ‘Fun and Positivity Award’ at the Caring for You awards night, Lisa Clemmet says she can’t take all the credit.
The Point Cook nurse beat out other health professionals from across the country and took home a glass trophy and $500 in prize money.
“I didn’t expect this at all, it’s a real blessing to be able to win an award, especially after going through two years of a pandemic,” Ms Clemmet said.
“I think it’s the other people around me to be honest [that makes me fun and positive], if you show that attitude, it’s what you receive back.
“I like to have that positive mind…it creates that happy place to work.”
Ms Clemmet believes her happy attitude is vital in the industry she works in and “makes life a little bit easier”.
“With nursing, people are usually coming in upset or stressed out, they’re scared and nervous and not sure what’s going on,” she said.
“It’s good to have a positive outlook, just to calm them down.”
Ms Clemmet credits her mum as being an inspiration for her optimistic views and attitude.
“Any time I call her, when I go to her with something, she always has that positive outlook, I think maybe that’s where I get it from,” she said.
