Point Cook man wins $2.2 million

A Point Cook man who never checks his TattsLotto tickets got the surprise of a lifetime when he received a call from The Lott, revealing his sensational $2.2 million windfall in the weekend’s draw.

He was one of the nine division one winning entries nationally in Saturday’s draw with each division one winning entry pocketed $2,222,222.23.

“Oh okay, wow,” he said when an official from The Lott confirmed the winning news.

“I had no idea. I never check my ticket. I never look at it, I just have a subscription running every week. This is quite the surprise.

“I heard my phone ring earlier while I was enjoying a coffee, but I didn’t feel like answering it. Later, when I checked my phone and emails, I saw that The Lott had been trying to contact me.

“I just said, ‘Why the hell is The Lott ringing me?’. I was walking around in circles for ages thinking about it, and then I went to work.

“It’s so unbelievable.”

The man said he would spend about $200,000 of it and then invest the rest.
