Sisters Ella and Lily love to play together, whether they are reading, exploring the great outdoors or learning something new.

For families looking for new ways to entertain their children, Wyndham council will host a Play Expo in Tarneit next week.

Wyndham’s family friendly city portfolio holder Cr Mia Shaw said the free event would show parents how they could help their children to learn while playing.

“Council’s Play Expo will be held during National Playgroup Week and is designed to give parents with children aged five and under hands-on games and play experiences that they can use at home,” Cr Shaw said.

“With almost 10 per cent of Wyndham’s population aged five and under, the Play Expo is ideal for families looking to engage and play more with their children.

“Play is important for children’s brain development and helps improve their creativity and social skills.”

The Play Expo will be held on Wednesday, March 21 from 10am to 1pm at the Penrose Community Centre, 83 Penrose Promenade, Tarneit. No bookings required.
