Plant trees with VU

Victoria University (VU) is inviting the public to join its community tree planting day this Friday.

Participants will get to roll up their sleeves, meet new people and have a hot drink while they work towards the target of planting 2500 trees.

The trees planted will build understory growth and support ecological and biodiversity habitats in the area.

Since 2022, VU has planted 10,000 trees at its Werribee Campus, an initiative supported by the state government’s More Trees for a Cooler, Greener West program which aims to plant 500,000 trees to increase tree canopy coverage in Melbourne’s western suburbs.

The event will run between 9.15am–4pm.
