Smoke may be visible in and around Melbourne’s south-west on Saturday as Forest Fire Management Victoria conduct a 32-hectare grassland ecological planned burn at Homestead Entrance Road in Point Cook.
Metro District Manager Dan White said the planned burn was being carried out to ensure that native grassland would regenerate.
Mr White said smoke may be visible around Point Cook, Altona, Williamstown, Laverton and Seabrook.
“Planned burns only go ahead when the weather and other conditions are right, so plans can change,” he said.
