If you’re looking for the perfect Christmas tree in the lead-up to the festive season, look no further than Wyndham Vale fire brigade.

A team of brigade volunteers is selling real trees ready for decoration, with all funds going back into the brigade.

Captain Trevor Weston says this will be the fourth Christmas they’ve sold trees, and it will be their biggest fundraiser for the year.

“Being an entirely volunteer brigade, we get some funding through the CFA, but for all other funds we have to apply for community grants and run other fundraisers,” Mr Weston said.

“Whatever is raised through the sale of Christmas trees goes a long way. Last year’s funds went towards the new four-wheel drive vehicle we got earlier this year. The sale can also support other operational and training equipment we might need, as well as just the general operation of the brigade.”

The trees are available in varied sizes, with a five-foot tree costing $50, a six-footer $55 and a seven-foot tree $60.

Mr Weston says that for a small fee, the brigade can also deliver the tree to homes and pick it up after Christmas.

“The trees are great quality. We can guarantee they’ll still be green by New Year’s,” he said.

The trees are on sale at the Wyndham Vale fire station from 9am to 5pm on Saturdays and 10am-5pm Sundays.
