A big day out is planned for Wyndham’s youngest residents at the annual Children’s Week Picnic next week.
The free event, now in its 19th year, will feature a line-up of family entertainment, music, games, sports, food and hands-on fun for children.
Mayor Mia Shaw encouraged families to pack a picnic blanket and come down to Werribee Park for a great day out.
“This year’s program will feature a terrific line-up of family favourites such as The Mik Maks, Alex The Magician and Professor Bubbles,” Cr Shaw said.
Out on the lawn, children will be able to create their own wild character with Polyglot Theatre’s Wild Heads, using natural materials to construct wearable art.
“The event will be spread across Werribee Park with buzzing stages and activity zones, complemented with quieter spots to relax over a picnic under the trees and enjoy the roving entertainment,” Cr Shaw said.
Other highlights will include a range of stall holders and a host of interactive activities such as Trash Puppet workshops, a silent disco, bubble photo booth, traffic school, gardening activities and roving entertainment.
The Children’s Week Picnic is on between 10am and 4pm at Werribee Park, with free shuttle buses running from Werribee and Wyndham Vale train stations.
