Phone stolen by run-away youth

Police are searching for a teenager after a brazen theft of a mobile phone in Tarneit on Monday.

Investigators said a 32-year-old man was walking along Mirima Street when he was approached by a girl about 7.30pm.

The girl asked to use his phone to contact a relative.  When he handed the phone over, she ran away with it.

The girl is perceived to be of African appearance, aged 15 to 18 years old and about 160cm tall.

She was wearing red shorts, a black-and-white jumper and black shoes.
