Wyndham council has revealed it will begin design and concept planning for two signalled pedestrian crossings in Tarneit.
Located on Wootten Road and Hummingbird Boulevard, the proposed crossings are set to improve safety for pedestrians, particularly students and families, who attend Davis Creek Primary School and the nearby Islamic college.
Mayor Josh Gilligan said the crossings were a practical investment in safer, more walkable neighbourhoods.
“These pedestrian operated signals will make it safer and easier for students, families and local residents to cross busy roads,” Cr Gilligan said.
“This is a practical, on-the-ground improvement that supports safer school drop-offs and pick- ups and encourages more people to walk or ride for short local trips.”
