Werribee’s Wendy Ludwig and her dog Harry are long-time participants in the coolest event on the canine calendar.
For the past few years, Ms Ludwig and her Cavalier/King George spaniel cross have taken part in the annual RSPCA Million Paws Walk.
The event will be held at 18 locations across the state on Sunday, May 21, including Albert Park Lake and Geelong, to help raise funds for the RSPCA.
Ms Ludwig said this year she and Harry would attend the Geelong walk.
“It’s good for Harry because he can say hello to the other dogs,” she said. “What I enjoy is the walk, getting out in the fresh air and it doesn’t matter if it’s raining.”
Ms Ludwig said people of all ages could join in the walk.
“I’m 66 years old, it doesn’t matter how old you are – definitely anyone who has got a dog, you can go out and do it,” she said.
Each Million Paws Walk event will include entertainment, food and fun for humans and their furry friends.
The Albert Park Lake Million Paws Walk will run between 9am-3pm, with the walk starting at 10am.
The Geelong event will be held at the Eastern Gardens Circuit, Botanic Gardens, Garden Street between 8.30am and noon, with the walk starting at 10am.
