The popular Point Cook Pop Up Park is back – and it has something for everyone.

Events at the Murnong Street park will include gardening education sessions, movies, live music, swing dancing, children’s craft, a rock painting workshop and a teddy bear picnic.

The first Point Cook Pop Up Park was held last year between February 25 and April 15.

Afterwards, organisers teamed up with the Point Cook Action Group to apply for a grant from the state government’s Pick My Project program in a bid for funding to hold the event again this year.

The bid was successful and as a result, the park is back until April 29.

Park joint project leads Susan McIntyre and Sara Mitchell said they had collaborated with community hubs, Wyndham council’s City Activation Team and Stockland to bring the park to life.

Volunteers, local businesses and community groups helped to set up the park earlier this month.

Ms McIntyre said that the park was aimed at connecting residents and groups and boosting the local economy.

“The whole thing is meant to be harmonious, friendly and welcoming,” she said.

Ms McIntyre said the park also gave people a chance to meet new friends.
