Werribee Park’s autumn plant sale is a botanic bonanza at which gardeners can find tree-rrific bargains. More than 1600 plants will be available for purchase at the weekend event. The sale will include heritage fruit trees, shrubs, perennials and herbs grown at the park’s community garden. Parks Victoria horticultural ranger Adam Smith said funds raised at the sale would go towards helping volunteer groups based at the park, including NatureWest, the Werribee Park Heritage Orchard group and Karen refugees who work in the community garden. “It is our biggest plant sale of the year,” he said. The sale will be on Saturday, May 27, from 10am to 3pm. Enter via the Werribee Park gate 2, from the main visitor carpark on K Road.
