Park and walk program takes off at Wyndham schools

Wyndham council has introduced an ‘Active Travel to School’ program to encourage physical activity.

Bellbridge primary and Stella Maris Catholic Primary school have placed “park & walk” signs at parking spaces within close distance from each school where parents can drop their kids off, or walk them the rest of the way.

In a Facebook post, Wyndham Council said the signs are a guide to parents and guardians that the space is a “suitable” place to park the car.

“Active travel is an important way of improving health and wellbeing, social interaction and reducing car dependency.”
