Pacific Werribee is “positively beaming with positivity” as shops which have been closed during the pandemic lockdown open up this week.

Centre manager Patricia Gardiner said that the centre was pleased to be able to welcome back those retailers which have been closed.

“While we all continue to adhere to our COVID Safe practices, we are thrilled to be able to welcome back customers and a great number of our retailers who were able to reopen this week – the centre community is certainly beaming with positivity,” Ms Gardiner said.

“As we begin to see more people visit Pacific Werribee, I do want to reassure our community that their health and wellbeing continues to remain our top priority as we move out of this lockdown period.”

Ms Gardiner said the shopping centre was continuing to uphold “a number of robust measures designed to help mitigate infection transmission risk” to help protect customers, retailers and staff.

“These measures include increased cleaning to strengthen the focus on sanitising commonly touched areas with high-grade disinfectant, placement of permanent hand sanitisation stations at key points throughout the centre, a centre-wide signage campaign designed to remind our community how to keep safe and protect others during this challenging time, robust queue management systems and close work with retail partners to ensure they are following their COVID Safe plans,” she said.

“We are also closely following guidelines set by the federal government, implementing their Environmental Cleaning and Disinfection for COVID-19 principles in all our cleaning processes.”

Ms Gardiner said that despite the pleasing news of easing restrictions, Pacific Werribee needs the community to remain focused on how they can also help protect the wellbeing of those around them.

“We are proud of the role we play in our community – both in good times and during this pandemic – and we seek their cooperation, understanding and patience as we all navigate this period of easing restrictions together,” Ms Gardiner said.

“It’s important to remember that we all have a part to play in mitigating the spread of the virus and we would like to remind our community to always:

-Keep at least 1.5 metres between themselves and others

-Wear a face covering when visiting the centre

-Practise exemplary personal hygiene

-Stay at home if they’re feeling unwell

-Plan their trip to Pacific Werribee in advance, making the most of our live parking and shopper traffic trackers on our website, and our order and collect program.

“We encourage anyone feeling unwell to self-isolate, get tested for COVID-19 and seek medical attention as soon as possible, in line with DHHS guidelines,” Ms Gardiner said.
