Police intercepted a Wyndham Vale man allegedly driving about 161 kilometres per hour on Ballan Road, Quandong yesterday.
Westgate Highway Patrol intercepted the 21-year-old man on a 100 kilometres per hour section of the road about 6.12pm yesterday.
The probationary licence holder is expected to be charged with driving at dangerous speeds and exceeding the speed limit.
His vehicle was impounded at a cost of $1006.10.
