Pacific Werribee Shopping Centre and the nearby bus station have been declared as a designated area by Victoria Police, meaning officers can stop and search people for illegal weapons.
Local police, transit police and Protective Services Officers will be conducting wand searches at the shopping centre and bus hub on July 3 as part of Omni Operation.
Police said the operation was about sending a clear message to a small section of the community who choose to carry weapons that it won’t be tolerated.
