The ON TRACK music program for students aged 12 to 18 years old will return to Werribee next week.

The initiative, which will run from Monday, January 17 to Friday, January 21 is free for young people to participate in.

Developed by the Mushroom Group and supported by the state government, the ON TRACK school holiday project brings in Australian hip hop artists to mentor students.

Throughout the week, students will receive DJ training and have the chance to write, rap and perform their own music.

A day of dance and music celebration featuring AFROBEAT African Drumming and L2R Dance Crew will be held on Monday.

In past years, ON TRACK has hosted 14 programs across Dandenong, Hoppers Crossing, Melton, St Albans, Braybrook and Tarneit, engaging with more than 250 students.

ON TRACK lead DJ and creative workshop mentor, DJ Rojdar, said: “ON TRACK is an amazing music program that gives local students a real life insight into how the professionals work and create music, even using the same top of the range music gear.”

ON TRACK will be held at the Werribee Football Club (in The Huddle Room), 150-226 Watton Street, Werribee.

Lunch, refreshments and prizes will be included for participants daily.

All participants are required to be fully vaccinated at time of the program start date. Participants must provide proof of vaccination at time of registration or once fully vaccinated prior to start of program.
