Off the leash

Truganina now has another off-leash dog park, as works on the Alcock Road Reserve have wrapped up.

The works, valued at $450,000 park, delivered a large fenced lawn area with double gates, a drink fountain and an active zone with agility equipment for dogs.

The park also features a dog bag dispenser and bin, landscaping, bench seating and a new concrete path to link into the network of existing paths.

Mayor Mia Shaw said the new dog off-leash park would be a great addition to Alcock Road Reserve.

“This interactive new space gives Truganina dog owners more choice when taking their beloved pooches out to play, and is sure to become a haven for residents and their pets alike,” Cr Shaw said.

“We’re working hard to ensure all residents have access to dog off-leash spaces within their local neighbourhood.”

The development was delivered in alignment with the Wyndham Dog Off-Leash Plan 2022 and Wyndham’s Open Space Strategy 2045, which focus on providing accessible and well-connected open spaces for families and their pets.

Council will be hosting an opening event for the community and their canines at the park on Saturday, June 21 from 10am to 1pm.
