Nothing spared for Alamanda College fair

When it comes to putting on an event, Alamanda K-9 College doesn’t believe in doing anything by halves.

The school will host its inaugural Alamanda College Fair this Sunday from 10am-4pm, and it will be vast, with activities covering the college campus along Alamanda Boulevard and the neighbouring Alamanda Reserve.

Fair-goers can stroll the village green, indulge their sweet tooth at a bake sale, get their adrenaline running on a host of carnival rides, shop up a storm in the marketplace and grab fresh produce at the farmers’ market.

There will also be face-painting and crazy- hair stalls, an entertainment main stage, a ‘come and try’ sports zone, and a dunk-a-teacher stall where students will have the chance to dunk their ‘favourite’ teacher in a huge tub of water.

Entry is free, but fees will apply to a number of activities.

Alamanda school council events co-ordinator Sally Broad says proceeds raised on the day will go towards building the school’s second gymnasium.

The school, which opened in 2013 with 371 students, already has 1900 students enrolled for 2017.
