Nominations open for the Victorian Honour Roll of Women

In a move to shine a spotlight on the trailblazing women of Victoria, the state government has opened nominations for the 2026 Victorian Honour Roll of Women. The roll celebrates the achievements of women across a very diverse range of fields, including social justice, health, science, the arts, and beyond.

“Women right across Victoria are changing lives every day – whether it is in the research lab, in the legal system or advocating for change in a range of fields, this a chance to highlight incredible women from all walks of life,” said Minister for Women Mary-Anne Thomas.

Last year’s inductees included Professor Kelly-Anne Phillips, the first woman to become a Professor of Oncology in Victoria, who has dedicated her career to advancing breast cancer research and improving women’s health. Also recognised were family violence awareness advocates like Professor Kate Fitz-Gibbon and Lutfiye Kavci, a survivor who has turned her own harrowing experience into creating positive change.

“If you know a history heroine, emerging leader, local champion, trailblazer or change agent who deserves to be recognised among these remarkable women, nominate them now,” encouraged Ms Thomas.

The Honour Roll was created by the late Hon Joan Kirner AC, Victoria’s first female Premier, to formally acknowledge women’s achievements and inspire the next generation of leaders.

“By celebrating women’s achievements and recognizing their contributions, the government is proud to play a vital role in increasing the representation of women by promoting them as key role models and leaders to build a more gender equal society,” the Minister stated.

Nominations for the 2026 Victorian Honour Roll of Women are open until Friday, March 20, 2026. Members of the public are encouraged to visit vic.gov.au/honour-roll-women to submit their nominations.
