Nominations for the 2025 Victorian Aboriginal Honour Roll are now open.

Minister for Treaty and First Peoples Natalie Hutchins opened nominations, calling for nominations from people whose advocacy, determination and work have shaped a better and fairer Victoria.

“The Victorian Aboriginal Honour Roll celebrates the remarkable leadership of First Nations people who make our state stronger, fairer and more connected,” she said.

“This is a chance to recognise someone whose impact deserves to be recorded and remembered – I encourage all Victorians to nominate a First Nations person whose work has made a difference.”

Since it was established in 2011, the Victorian Aboriginal Honour Roll has recognised 158 First Nations people for their work across education, health, justice, sports, the arts and community advocacy.

Recent inductees include Uncle Ricky Baldwin, whose work at the Koorie Academy has supported generations of young people to embrace culture and community, and Aunty Iris Bysouth who is a proud advocate for Stolen Generations Survivors and former Victorian Senior of the Year.

The Honour Roll is on display in the Victorian Parliament, telling the stories of these remarkable individuals from every corner of Victoria.

Nominations close on Thursday, October 3 and more information is available at firstpeoplesrelations.vic.gov.au/VAHR
