A Tarneit road that will run through the heart of the suburb’s newest housing estate has received a $12 million upgrade – and there’s another one to come.
Developer Stockland has upgraded a 900-metre section of Davis Road, between Sayers and Hogans roads, from an unsealed gravel road to a sealed, dual-carriageway with a bike lane.
The upgrade also included a new roundabout at the Davis Road-Sayers Road intersection.
Davis Road runs through the length of The Grove estate, from Sayers Road to the Werribee River, with the estate’s first residents expected to move in at the end of the year.
Stockland development manager Callan Ainsaar said the estate’s town centre would be along Davis Road, and the first residents were building their homes just off the main thoroughfare.
Mr Ainsaar said construction would start early next year on another 600 metres of David Road, between Bethany and Hogans roads.
This $3.4 million upgrade is expected to be completed in the first half of 2018.
Mr Ainsaar said the works were part of the Wyndham North development contributions plan.
The upgrades will be treated as work in kind once an agreement has been formalised with Wyndham council. They will offset the developer contributions to be paid by Stockland.
