Four new schools set to open in Wyndham during 2023 are looking to appoint their future principals.
Tarneit MP Sarah Connolly and Werribee MP Tim Pallas announced the news on Wednesday, February 2.
The two MPs said that current and aspiring school principals interested in applying for the positions would have the “unique opportunity” to lead a brand-new school and establish a new culture from the ground up.
The state government is set to open 14 new schools across Victoria during 2023, including Holyoake Parade Primary School in Manor Lakes, Lollypop Creek Primary School in Werribee, Riverdale East Primary School in Tarneit and Tarneit Missen House Primary School in Tarneit.
Prospective principals interested in working at the schools can apply through the Department of Education and Training’s Recruitment Online portal, with applications open until February 25.
The principals for will be appointed about April and begin work in term two of 2022.
The new principals will also appoint new school staff as soon as possible, as well as work closely with architects and builders on each of the school’s designs.
Mr Tim Pallas said: “I can’t wait to see Holyoake Parade Primary School and Lollypop Creek Primary School take shape – and I’m excited to see fantastic new principals take the reins on these projects.”
Ms Connolly said she was “so excited to see these fantastic new schools take shape – and look forward to welcoming our new principals to our vibrant community”.
The state government has committed to building 100 new Victorian schools between 2019 and 2026.
