New park for Tarneit

The designs for a new park set to benefit residents living in Tarneit have been released by Stockland property group.

Designed in close consultation with the community, the park will be located in Grand Central and include elements residents expressed a desire to see and enjoy.

Future Grand Central resident Muhammad Zaman Khan said his family was “extremely excited” for the new park.

“With two children under the age of five, this park will

allow us to enjoy time in our local community and gives us the opportunity for our children to play with other children in the neighbourhood,” Mr Khan said.

The top three features nominated by residents through a community survey were a playground, walking paths and a pavilion with seating areas.

Designed to suit all ages, the park will include elements for children and adults of all abilities to enjoy.

The playground will feature a multi-level climbing tower with slides, a spinner, climbing poles, pull up bars and a range of swings.

A large open green space for community activities, a basketball half court, and main central pavilion with seating were also included in the design.

The park will feature a cantilever and omni swings, an interactive blue tongue lizard art installation and nature play items such as logs and rocks.

Outdoor work pods, shelter and power and USB charging points will be available at the park.

Stockland project director Ed Krushka said the park is “highly anticipated”.

“Our parks and play spaces are an integral part of our communities and they provide an opportunity for residents to interact with one another and enjoy a healthy and active outdoor lifestyle,” Mr Krushka said.

Construction will commence in August 2022.
