New nets in Wyndham Vale

Wyndham council has announced the completion of a series of works to the Wyndham Vale North Reserve and the next stage of planning for the site.

New sportsground lighting has been installed across all three ovals, which is expected to improve training hours and improve conditions for evening sport and recreation.

A three-lane synthetic cricket net enclosure has also been installed.

Irrigation renewal works are currently underway across the grounds to improve the turf quality.

Design work on the next stage of the master plan, a redevelopment of the sporting pavilion, is scheduled to begin in early 2026.

Mayor Josh Gilligan said he expected the upgrades to fill an urgent sporting need and make the municipality more liveable.

“These upgrades were a game-changer for local athletes, providing our local clubs and players with the high-quality facilities they deserve and ensuring they can make the most of the facilities well into the evening,” he said.

“Improved lighting, new cricket nets, and refreshed grounds mean more opportunities for sport, recreation, and community connection.

“Together, these upgrades are set to deliver significant benefits to Wyndham Vale North Reserve’s tenant clubs, their members, spectators and visiting teams, by offering high-quality facilities that meet the growing needs of our community.”
