A newly-constructed emergency communications facility in Williams Landing has been sold for $25.93 million.
Cedar Woods Properties Limited announced the sale of the four-storey building, which is located at 107 Overton Road, last week.
The 3126 square metre property has been purchased by Hellenic Property Investments Pty Ltd.
The building has also been leased to the state government, under a 15-year agreement.
Cedar Woods managing director Nathan Blackburne said the state-of-the-art facility would perform a vital role in emergency call-taking and dispatch services, and handling major emergencies.
“The centre will handle daily fire, policy and ambulance triple-0 calls,” Mr Blackburne said.
“The property has sophisticated IT systems, back-up power, and high-quality finishes and materials throughout.
“There are also acoustic treatments to the building which help to limit internal noise transfer and much more.”
Arbout 300 people will be employed at the emergency communications facility.
“This was an excellent collaboration between Cedar Woods, our builder partner Hacer, the Victorian government and the emergency communications team,” Mr Blackburne said.
Wyndham mayor, Cr Josh Gilligan, said: “We welcome this new facility to Wyndham which shows the city’s ability to attract large organisations seeking access to a professional services workforce.”
Mr Blackburne said that Cedar Woods still held a “significant pipeline of undeveloped sites at Williams Landing which will continue to be developed over the next 10 years”.
“The project has approximately 17 hectares of development land still available for a mix of office, retail and residential projects,” he said.
“In addition to attracting major commercial tenants, Williams Landing has witnessed continued demand for strata offices from smaller businesses including accountants, dentists, lawyers and technology companies.
“This new city has really evolved in recent years and is the type of place that people want to live, shop, eat and work in – there’s nothing like it in Melbourne’s booming west.
“It also offers the local population proximate white-collar employment opportunities, rather than having to travel into the city, Docklands, Port Melbourne, or further.”
