A new case of Covid-19 has been recorded in a Wyndham resident, bringing the total number of cases recorded among residents to 29.
Victorian cases of Covid-19 are recorded by where a patient lives, not where they were diagnosed – so, for example, a Werribee resident who has been diagnosed with the virus, but is staying in Melbourne’s CBD, will be counted as a Wyndham Covid-19 case, not a Melbourne city council Covid-19 case.
Elsewhere in the west, there are 33 cases of Covid-19 among Brimbank residents. (Brimbank includes Sunshine, St Albans and Keilor).
Hobsons Bay residents (which includes the suburbs of Altona, Laverton and Williamstown) have 14 cases, Melton 21 and Maribyrnong (which includes the suburbs of Footscray, Braybrook and Yarraville) 10.
Sixty-three Greater Geelong residents have been diagnosed with coronavirus.
The municipality of Stonnington, in the inner south-east, has 89 cases among residents – the highest in the state.
Victoria has 1361 cases of the illness, and has recorded 18 deaths due to the disease.
More than 1290 Victorians have recovered from the virus.
Victoria Police statistics up until 11pm yesterday show that officers have conducted 651 spot checks at homes, businesses and non-essential services across the state as part of Operation Sentinel, to ensure people are complying with pandemic regulations.
Police have 74 fines have been issued in the past 24 hours for breaches, including four people drinking alcohol in a shopping centre carpark and 10 people present at a private residence for a birthday party.
