Two new bus routes connecting to Werribee, Williams Landing and Tarneit train stations will begin at the end of the month.
Route 152 from Tarneit station to Williams Landing station via Palmers Road, and route 182 from Werribee station to Tarneit station via Tarneit West, are scheduled to begin running services from May 30.
Both bus routes will operate seven days a week and mostly operate every 40 minutes during the day and on weekends, with improved frequencies during peak hours.
Tarneit MP Sarah Connolly welcomed the new bus routes, while speaking in parliament earlier this month.
Ms Connolly said the state government funded the two new bus routes last year “after a fantastic show of community support”.
“We know that new routes are needed to help connect new and developing estates in Tarneit and Truganina to our train stations, major shopping centres and even just to get to work every day,” she said.
“We are a growing community, and every year more families are choosing to call Tarneit and Truganina home.
“And what that has meant is that brand new estates have popped up outside the boundaries of our existing bus network, which has meant that estates like Allura, Riverdale Village and The Grove, just to name a few, have been left too far from our existing bus network.
“Our community has fought really hard for these new routes.
“I can tell you they are so excited about seeing the bus stops being built.”
Route 152 will travel to and from Tarneit station, along roads including Derrimut Road, Leakes Road, Sayers Road and Woodbury Street to Williams Landing station.
Route 182 will travel to and from Werribee station along roads including Market Road, Tarneit Road, Hogans Road, Davis Road, Leakes Road, Derrimut Road to Tarneit station.
The route will be amended early next year, following the completion of the bridge on Hogans Road. Details: https://www.ptv.vic.gov.au/journey/
