Two new exhibitions have launched at the Wyndham Art Gallery and will be available for viewing until March 19.
Between US and Content Warning: Queer, Fat, Sexy, officially launched on Thursday, January 19.
“Come and visit the Wyndham Art Gallery and be immersed in these two unique and interesting new exhibitions,“ Wyndham mayor Susan McIntyre said.
“Between Us is Wyndham local Ivy Mutuku’s first role as guest curator and Content Warning: Queer, Fat, Sexy is the first solo exhibition for Connor Ovenden-Shaw.
“Both exhibitions highlight the fabulous talent we have in our local community.”
Councillor McIntyre said council is committed to supporting the arts in Wyndham.
“We are building our reputation as a city that values, respects and appreciates arts, culture and creative expression,” she said.
Wyndham council’s creative city portfolio holder Marcel Mahfoud encouraged residents to visit the gallery.
“Ivy Mutuku’s Between Us exhibition is displayed upstairs in the gallery and explores the significance of friendships and why we need them,“ Cr Mahfoud said.
“Connor Ovenden-Shaw’s Content Warning: Queer, Fat, Sexy, is displayed on the ground floor of the gallery and explores the many facets of queer identity in every shade, delving into questions about identity and community.
“Visit the Wyndham Art Gallery and be immersed in Between Us and Content Warning: Queer, Fat, Sexy, two interesting and unique exhibitions that are not to be missed.“
