Nail salon fire

Fire Rescue Victoria crews responded to a blaze at a Point Cook nail salon this morning.

FRV fire-fighters attended the salon, at a Main Street shopping centre, just before 1am.

Crews donned breathing apparatus to enter the premises and attack the fire.

Smoke filled the shopping centre and the sprinkler system was activated.

At the height of the incident, 11 FRV appliances were present, including an aerial appliance

FRV crews contained the fire to the nail salon and bought the fire under control in 30 minutes.

FRV crews then checked for fire hot spots within the salon and worked to clear the smoke from the centre.

Gas and power companies were on scene to ensure the building’s supply was secure and CFA attended to assist FRV crews.

FRV’s specialist Fire Investigators are on scene determining the cause of the fire.
