Mystery surrounds the death of a Tarneit woman who died overnight after she was discovered with life-threatening injuries earlier this week.
Police have been told a family member discovered the 28-year-old woman unresponsive and with unspecified life-threatening injuries in a home in Nottingham Crescent, Tarneit, about 3pm on Tuesday.
She was rushed to hospital by ambulance paramedics, but died overnight.
Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit detectives, with the assistance of the Homicide Squad, are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death, and are waiting on the results of a post mortem to assist in the investigation.
