The commute to work will soon get a little easier for Wyndham residents following the announcement of more train services on the Regional Rail Link.
The state government announced an additional 80 train services along the rail line on Monday, among them:
• An 8.43am train from Wyndham Vale to Melbourne.
• Eighteen services on the Geelong line that will stop at Wyndham Vale and Tarneit.
• Two more services to the city will stop at Tarneit in the morning peak.
• Two more Sunday services to and from Waurn Ponds will stop at Wyndham Vale and Tarneit.
V/Line figures released earlier this year revealed Tarneit station was the second- busiest on the network – behind only Southern Cross – with 2300 passengers boarding on an average weekday.
An average of 1300 passengers board at Wyndham Vale on weekdays.
Werribee MP Tim Pallas said the government was proud of the Regional Rail Link, which connected Wyndham Vale to the train network for the first time.
“Now we’re adding more services to create space for more passengers as Wyndham grows,” he said.
“The new services will make a real difference, giving passengers more choice about when they travel or how they get home.”
