Models strike a pose

Young people from all walks of life participated in a modelling competition at Pacific Werribee earlier this month.

On the weekend of March 7 and 8, the shopping hub hosted the state final of the 2021 Top Model Australia competition.

The annual competition searches the nation for boys and girls aged between 15 to 26 years old, who would like to become international models.

The Werribee event was hosted as a variety of runway shows, featuring autumn and winter fashion from retailers.

Joining the judging panel for the competition were Love Island Australia’s Matthew Zukowski, the Top Model 2018 winner Hope Ellen, Miss World Australia 2017 Esma Voloder, Hollywood producer Nancy Rizk and Iva Marra from Yummy Mummies.

The event was MC’d by Sarah Roza from the television show Married at First Sight.

Young people from across Victoria – including Waurn Ponds, Maidstone, Westmeadows and Broadmeadows – participated in the state final competition.

Ten aspiring models were selected to progress to the competition’s national final, which will be held later this year.

Cooper Goldsworthy, a 15-year-old from Wyndham Vale, was named as one of the finalists.

Courtney Gunn, who loves to play football, and Gabrielle Lang, who is studying biomedical sciences, were among the other finalists, who included Bart Jaden, Georgia Wood, Claudia Tibballs, Ritu Rakesh, Charli Murray, Kate Taylor and Dante Munoz.

The overall Australian Top Model winner from will participate in the competition’s international final in London, early next year.
