Million-dollar smiles at Tarneit Gardens Lotto

Tarneit Gardens Lotto owner Ayden Johnson was celebrating last week after his business sold a division one winning Powerball ticket.

The lucky winner was one of only two winners to share in the $6 million prize, and will walk away with more than $3 million.

Mr Johnson, who was contacted by Tatts headquarters on Thursday night following the Powerball draw, said he was thrilled by the news.

“I’m over the moon,” he said.

“The shop is only brand-new, and to win Powerball, which [is meant to be] the hardest one to win, is really good for the shop.”

Mr Johnson said the winner, who came into the store over the weekend, was not aware that she had taken out the top prize.

“She started to shake and put her hands around her mouth [when told that she has won]. She was crying and hugging me.”

Mr Johnson, who lives in Wyndham Vale, said it was the second time since he opened the business 18 months ago that he has sold a division one ticket.

The first winning division one ticket was won by members of a syndicate, who took away $138,000 each.
